Should I have a preview?

Previews are very important. It gives you the opportunity to meet your stylist, convey your ideas and build a relationship. You can the see exactly what to expect on your wedding day. This will also help you to feel comfortable with your stylist ons this very special day. A make up preview can take up to 60 minutes. To ensure that the stylist is available on a date that suits both of you, please contact them as soon as you have booked to finalise your preview.

When should I arrange my preview?

Trials should be held 1 to 3 months in advance.

Before the event a programme should be set up to assure everything runs smoothly and to ensure that all clients are ready on time.

Come prepared to your preview

Please bring along pictures  of make up that you like and prefer. This gives the stylist a better idea of what to incorporate into your final look to ensure that you look beautiful and that it matches with your own unique features.

How do I confirm my wedding date

To confirm your wedding date a 50% booking fee needs to be paid. The proof of payment, along with the signed contract needs to be sent through to confirm your booking. Only after receiving these documents  your date will be secured.

What products do you use?

We use professional and high end products such as Kryolan, MAC, Bobby Brown, Smashbox, Creative Glamour, etc. All of the items used have been tried and tested and have proved to be the best products for the application.

How to prep your face?

  • - Exfoliate your skin twice a week before the wedding day. A facial is always a good idea. Arrange this at least 2 weeks before the function to ensure that your skin has enough time to recover
  • - Shape and tint your eyebrows at least one week before the function/event
  • - Please be prepared to start when I arrive at the venue. All clients should have a clean, makeup-free face & be ready to start.
  • - A set-up table/ work area/ chair/trash can/ outlet will need to be made available for the Stylist. Ample lighting, whether by means of natural light or by lamps, is necessary for services to be performed properly. The stylist will arrive 15 minutes prior to set-up
  • - All clients must have their make-up done in the same room or the same venue. No changes of venue will be made on the date specified beforehand
  • - Wear clothing that can be easily removed without messing up your beautifully styled makeup, like a robe or button dress
  • - Bring enough water along so that you can keep hydrating during the day
  • - Remember to enjoy yourself!

Terms & Conditions

  • - A booking fee of 50% is payable to secure your date. This booking fee is non-refundable and it also applies to bridesmaids, moms, etc., who wish to have a trial done
  • - The balance is payable no later than 14 days before the event. Failure to do so will result in immediate cancellation of HKBeauty's services
  • PLEASE NOTE: Cheques or cash cheques will not be accepted
  • - No date will be booked until proof of payment, as well as your signed contract, have been received
  • - An overtime fee of R500 will be charged once the makeup artist is kept waiting for more than an hour
  • - All clients must have their styling done in the same room or the same venue. No change of venue will be made
  • - The full amount will be charged for the number of ladies on your signed contract. No changes/cancellations will be allowed on the day of your event. In this case, someone may be substituted, or the amount will be forfeited
  • - No cancellation fee will be charged if the make-up services are cancelled 3 or more months before the booked event
  • - A 100% payment of the invoice is required for cancellations less than 2 weeks before your event
  • - Travel fees are charged according to the AA rates per kilometre and include toll fees when travelling to your home or venue for any appointment. Fees may vary due to inflation and fluctuations in fuel prices

This is very important to ensure that we stay on schedule and finish applications within the assigned timeframe. The list of clients receiving services is due two weeks before your wedding. Please fill in the contract supplied.
